Character Info: As a yellowblooded troll, due to casteism, the Psiioniic was made a slave from hatching. When he met the mutant-blooded troll The Signless, he was encouraged to break free of his shackles (more mental than really physical) and ran away with him to spread his asshole best friend's word. The Alternian Empire disapproved of this, as what the Signless spoke of was equality for all bloods because of a dream (really memories of a previous universe). This eventually escalated into full blown rebellion, which the rebels lost. Each of the main four- the Signless, the Dolorosa, the Disciple, and of course the Psiioniic- were each given a specific punishment. For the Psiioniic, he was forced to become a living battery and computer for Her Imperious Condescension's ship and his life was prolonged by her power.

Personality:
The Psiioniic shows up in three panels in the entire series of Homestuck with no speaking lines whatsoever, so, obviously, it might be tricky to think of how he could be like. However, every lineage troll-wise has shown themselves to have similarities even if each person is unique. Serkets are ambitious and adore attention. Amporas are generally all around dicks. Leijons are heavily involved in quadrants, whether personally or interest-wise.

The Captor lineage, which is what the Psiioniic is part of, also contains Mituna Captor (his past life in another universe) and Sollux Captor (his descendant in the current universe). They are snark-filled, self sacrificial, suffer from bipolarity, genius that comes from the same source, and an apparently genetic ability to get hot chicks into their nerdy pants.

Bipolarity is a genetic trait for the Captor lineage. In both Mituna and Sollux alike, they sometimes rapidly smash from one end of extreme to the next. Even in the same conversation, they can go from arrogant confidence- they're the best in the world, they're amazing, suck their bulges universe- to despising themselves and apologizing constantly for their existence. Even in depression, however, they're still brilliantly minded- even Mituna, who suffered from traumatic brain injury, can still manage to grind down a rail and only flub it on the landing.

Beyond all this, however, it must be remembered that Psii's age and living in a different time and world has changed him. Even before he became a Helmsman, his life as a slave ensured that he became wary, overtly cautious to the point of paranoia, and no doubt suffered from PTSD from the things he endured. (Slavery is horrible even done by humans. Alternia is a much harsher beast.) As a Helmsman, he lost some of his overt snark and has dialed it back to something more lowkey. He's a lot more miserable and weak, yet he's still managing to push on somehow. Where he gets the stubbornness and meager amounts of hope is anyone's guess.

...It's probably a lot of spite, honestly.

Rockstar Persona:
Artolo Apemis is from southern Americana, a quick talking and foul mouthed asshole who probably shouldn't be around people to start with and now has fame and fortune and lots of cameras focused on his face, so there's that. Of course, he's exactly the kind of asshole that one Pride Records loves, which explains quite a bit.

Perhaps some of his caustic attitude is from the fact that rumors goes he's the product of the foster system, or what some say is bipolarity that is strictly medicated, or all sorts of nasty things. Artolo plays some of it up, but he doesn't really confirm anything. He just wants to shamelessly live it up with whatever vice he can get his hand on thanks to newfound celebrity status.
Ideal CR: Anyone who can put up with this jackass. Anyone who can't. People he can be a bad influence on. Some sort of stable person who can keep his ass in check.
